nyc & shreveport update

I've officially been living in Louisiana for one whole month! Say what?! So much has happened!! Since my last post, I went to NYC, moved to a new state, and started a new job!

I plan to do an entire post all about my NYC Trip! It was an amazing, life changing really fun experience. But for now, I'll just share a few highlights!

This was my travel team, waiting for our layover at the Chicago Airport! We were appropriately named "The Pizza Group"!

One of the first things we did when we arrived in NYC was ride the Subway! It was crazy!

This was my subway card. These things are GOLD.

One night a group of us had the really cool opportunity to see the Brooklyn Bridge at night! HOLY SMOKES. It was so so so beautiful! I promise that's a real picture! I didn't photoshop myself in!

If you are anywhere near a Shake Shack and don't eat there, I feel sorry for you. Hands down my favorite burger. Even more than In n Out. And that's saying a lot!

Here's our whole group! Missing one or two! I love these people so much!

The move to Louisiana has honestly been so blessed! To me, that is the perfect way to describe this whole thing! God has opened so many doors and I am just so thankful! The people of Shreveport have accepted me with open arms and made me feel like we are truly family!

To catch you up to speed, I talked about my move in this post. Several months ago I began praying and asking God what my next step would be. I jokingly texted a friend about the possibility of moving and that set things into motion. Before I knew it, I was being called to interview for a job I didn't even know existed. I will spare you the tedious details, but I will say this. When I opened myself to what God had for me, He showed up in a BIG way! Doors were opened and opportunities were given to me and you guessed it, I am THANKFUL! I want to encourage you to trust God. Be open to what He has for you. Because yes, sometimes it'll be uncomfortable. I left a job, church and friend group that I love. However, the cool thing about God and the church is that you can also move to another job, church and friend group that you love just as much! After all, we're all serving for the same purpose, just in different locations!

A total bonus to this whole move has been the people of Shreveport! Ask anyone and they will tell you that Shreveport has this pull that brings people in and makes them want to stay! I know this to be true, first hand! This past February, I came to Shreveport for The Gathering and met a group of people that changed the way I view life and friendship! They are so much fun and love God and their community and it has challenged me in more ways than one!

All in all - Louisiana has ROCKED! I've been loving it and am super thankful and excited!
